Congressman King Denounces Nassau County Human Rights Commission for Bias and “Terminal Political Correctness”
November 12, 2009
Today I was informed that the Nassau County Human Rights Commission has unanimously adopted a resolution attacking me for my frequent comments that too many mosques in this country and too many Muslim leaders do not cooperate with law enforcement.
Apart from the fact that the Commission never even had the decency to let me know this resolution was going to be debated and voted on, it is absolutely baseless and absurd. I stand by every statement I have ever made on Muslim non-cooperation.
Just two months ago, for instance, an Imam in Queens, Najibullah Zazi, was indicted for tipping off the terrorist, Iman Afzali, that the NYPD and FBI were looking for him. And just today the FBI seized four mosques around the country.
In summary, the Nassau County Human Rights Commission either suffers from terminal political correctness or has no idea what it is talking about. Also I have no intention of meeting with any of its members.
