WASHINGTON - Today the House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee announced its approval of Rep. Peter King’s (R-Seaford) request for $350,000 for the City of Glen Cove. The funds will be used to recover costs spent by the City on the Glen Cove Creek Dredging Project.

“With the budget restrictions that face us, I made this funding for Glen Cove a top priority, and I am pleased that my request was honored for the full amount,” said King.

The Glen Cove Creek Dredging Project, advanced by Mayor Ralph Suozzi, is necessary for better navigation of the waterway, and is part of Glen Cove’s waterfront revitalization project on the Long Island Sound.

“As Glen Cove moves forward with its revitalization plans, I’m proud to support the projects that will redevelop it into a city with a thriving waterfront and make it a future tourist destination,” said King.
