King Renews Call for Answers from White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers
Sends Letter to Rogers Asking Crucial Outstanding Questions
December 10, 2009
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, sent a letter (see here) to White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers requesting answers to crucial questions regarding the role Rogers and her office had in the November 24 security breach at the White House during the State Dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Ranking Member King sent the letter to Rogers one day after the Committee on Homeland Security authorized the issuance of subpoenas for Tareq and Michaele Salahi, but refused, on a nearly party-line vote, to agree to King’s proposal to subpoena Rogers to testify before the Committee.
