Congressman Pete King Co-Sponsors Animal Emergency Planning Act of 2017
As a member of the Animal Protection Congressional Caucus, I seek every opportunity to support legislation that serves to protect the most vulnerable amongst us. That is why I have co-sponsored the Animal Emergency Planning Act of 2017. This bill is a natural extension of the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act of 2006, which I co-sponsored. It will ensure in the case of an emergency or natural disaster that animal-related businesses, such as research facilities and exhibitions, will have established contingency plans in place to safely evacuate and care for animals.
Please know that I will continue to be a leader in ensuring the well-being of animals. Should you have any further questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me.
