In The News

Recently, a dinner was hosted by the Nassau County Police Reserves at The Westbury Manor. All Nassau police officers who served on active military duty since 9/11/01 were honored. The program listed at least 75 federal, state, district, county, city and village officers who served in this war on terror in the state and federal military forces.

All the honorees serve in law enforcement in Nassau County for their respective agencies.

Chief Kilfoil of the Port Washington Police District submitted Patrolman John Chalker's name as his agency's honoree. John served in the Fighting 69th both at Ground Zero and in Iraq as a machine gunner.

Congressman Peter King was the keynote speaker and did an outstanding job.

The ceremony was very touching and patriotic. It was wonderful to see so many exceptional police officers who serve in both uniforms, recognized in such a patriotic way.

The Nassau County Police Reserves get a well-deserved accolade for providing such an event. }
